LPG backs the BID for Southampton
LPG is backing Southampton’s application to make the city a Business Improvement District (BID).
BID is a five year business led programme of investment, to bring £1.5m of improvement to the city centre in support of commercial and retail trade.
Lee Peck said: "The BID is an exciting opportunity - towns and cities throughout the UK that already have them in place are reaping the rewards. Reduced crime against business, increased footfall and significantly increased perception are just some of the results directly attributed to the BID"
The BID ballet is now underway and businesses have until 5pm on 26th February 2009 to register their vote. If successful work will get underway 8 weeks later on May 1st.
Andy Collyer, Chair of the BID Steering Group, said: "In this difficult and challenging economic climate, I believe the importance of the BID to Southampton has increased".
Lee Peck added: "As a leading marketing agency we are right behind the BID, not only for its own sake but I’m convinced it will be a catalyst for many other opportunities".
