Designs on musical success
Up and coming unsigned band, Goodbye Stereo, recently received a helping hand from LPG after winning a day with the LPGF creative team to design a logo and album cover.
The Isle of Wight four-piece, won the prize through registering on untainted.com, the new social networking and music download site for unsigned bands which was designed and built by LPGF at the end of 2007.
Sam Woodford (21), Craig Egerton-Reid (22), Ben Tippetts (18) and Danny Colson (21) of Goodbye Stereo spent the day with graphic designers at LPGF who then developed a sleek logo, and a front and back cover for the band’s debut album ‘Brace Yourself For Background Noise’.
Guitarist Danny from Goodbye Stereo explained that he found untainted.com while surfing the web looking for sites to promote unsigned bands: “The layout of untainted.com really caught my eye so I registered the band. We couldn’t believe it when we won the chance to get our logo and album cover designed professionally – by the same agency that designed the website.”
He continued: “We’re planning lots more gigs on the mainland this year and hope to play Bestival and Isle of Wight Festival – both of which have unsigned stages. This logo and album cover will really help us to promote ourselves further and pursue our careers in the music industry.”
Start up company, Untainted.com, approached LPGF last year to create a brand and design for the website. This has been supported by a strategic PR and pay per click campaign, as well as incentivised marketing materials.
