Calendar Girl
Alyson Marlow, who heads up the PR department at LPG, is one of the rally stars appearing in a charity calendar quickly being snapped up by eager buyers.
As a former rally driver and with a number of motorsport PR clients, Alyson is a well known name in the rallying world and has joined forces with some of the sport’s biggest female stars for the calendar. Pacenotes & Pearls is raising money for the Richard Burns Foundation – the charity set up following the death in 2005 of the UK’s most recent world rally champion. Alyson competed against Burns on world championship events such as Wales Rally GB and was delighted to be asked to appear in the calendar which was organised by fellow co-driver Paula Alderman.
“As a world rally champion, Richard was an inspiration to people within the world of rallying and beyond and it was great to be involved in raising money for the foundation set up in his name,’’ she said.
The stunning calendar was shot at Hampshire’s Somerley House and DeVere New Place to raise money for the foundation. In the calendar, the rally women have swapped their overalls for evening wear but with a sporty touch – taking them a world away from the muddy, wet and windy rally stages where they can usually be seen competing or working.
Other rallying names who headed to Hampshire for the calendar included Michele Mouton, the world’s greatest ever female rally driver, Hankook GRC production cup winning co-driver Kirsty Riddick and WRC driver Natalie Barrett who joins Alyson as the June models.
The calendar was shot by leading Hampshire photographer Innes Marlow, himself a former rally driver while students from Southampton Solent University were involved in the hair and make-up of the models.
Calendars cost £10 plus p+p and can be ordered by logging onto www.pacenotesandpearls.co.uk
