high performance PR
As Britain builds towards the London Olympics, Leepeckgroup has boosted its media might with the appointment of Ian Pocock as Communications Director.
The former BBC and Sunday Times journalist brings with him a proven track record after 12 years working on the frontline of international news and sport.
As the co-founder of Sportsbeat/News Associates, Ian helped build the business into the UK’s largest sports press agency, covering events such as the Olympic Games and the Football, Rugby and Cricket World Cups. A successful move into broadcasting followed with the BBC World Service, BBC World and The World Tonight, where he was part of the Sony Radio Academy Award-winning team.
“I am hugely excited at joining such an impressive company,” said Ian. “I have built my own business and worked on some of the major news events of the last decade. Now, in a shifting media landscape I aim to use that experience for the benefit of LPG’s clients."
Sue Thomas, managing director added “In the new fragmented marketplace, knowing where the audience is, and how best to engage with them is the key to success. Our ambition at LPGF is to be the leading consultancy in delivering that high performance for clients.”
Ian will lead the LPGF communications team, designing tailored media strategies, media consultancy and launching a new and unique branded content service aimed at maximising reach and impact in print, broadcast and online.
